KitchenPause, a Linkses OÜ project, limits data collection to features that require it. You can read public recipes, ingredients and articles without creating an account.
Personal kitchen tools are mainly stored in your browser. When you submit a form, we explain what reaches the server and why it is used.
On your device
Theme, saved recipes, shopping list, pantry and planner remain in the browser’s local storage.
When you write
The contact form stores your name, email and message in encrypted form so the request can be handled.
Technical measurement
We use Google Analytics for aggregated site usage and technical cookies for sessions and security.
Information that is processed
When you browse, the server may process standard technical information such as IP address, date, requested page, browser and security logs. Google Analytics receives usage information according to its own settings and policies.
A newsletter request stores the email, language and a derived identifier to prevent duplicates; the request remains pending. Contact submissions store name, email, reason, message, language and consent time.
- Preferences and kitchen tools: browser local storage.
- Session and form protection: necessary technical cookies or identifiers.
- Usage metrics: Google Analytics.
- Newsletter: email, language, status and deduplication hash.
- Contact: voluntarily supplied data, encrypted in the database.
Purpose, retention and third parties
We use data to provide the requested feature, maintain security, answer enquiries, manage corrections and understand in aggregate which parts of the site are useful. We do not sell personal information.
Requests are retained while pending or needed for their handling and may then be administratively archived or deleted. Hosting and technical providers may process data to provide their services; Google Analytics is an external measurement service.
- Contact messages are not used to subscribe you to communications.
- Received email addresses are not published.
- External source links only take you to another site when you choose to open them.
- No transmission or storage can promise absolute security; we apply encryption and controls proportionate to the risk.
Your choices and requests
You can remove saved recipes, shopping, pantry, planner and theme data through your browser’s site-data settings. That local content is not tied to a KitchenPause account.
To ask about, correct or request deletion of data sent through contact or newsletter forms, use the contact form and state the email used and the type of request. We may ask for minimal information to verify that the request concerns the right person.
- Request access to or information about submitted data.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Ask for deletion where applicable.
- Object to or restrict certain uses where applicable.
- Report a privacy or security concern.
